It was my pleasure to teach Joe for two years at BHASVIC. He was chilled out and great fun to have in the classroom and got on with everybody (I know people say that about everyone but it was really true of Joe). Like many people have been commenting here, we bonded over music through a shared love of early 90s indie and brit-pop, discussing the various bands on his t-shirts each lesson. I loved that whenever he was challenged with a theory that he felt was ridiculous he would just shrug as if it wasn't even worth the effort - like he felt sorry for them for holding such ludicrous views. Life is wonderful but often unfair and Joe's untimely passing is a reminder of the latter but his life itself is evidence of the former.
